29th Nov 2011 Strike Action and attendance codes Where there is closures (or part closure of classes/forms) then use code Y.
To record the Y code in SIMS go to to Focus/Attendance /Exceptional Circumstances.
If you have a part closure and where some classes/forms should attend then please use normal codes as you would do for children attending school.

10th Nov 2011 Discover Update Thank you to all the schools who attended the Discover overviews this week. They have received a very positive reaction.
This is to update you on the support that is available for Discover for this financial year. Discover is not part of our SLA for this year but as it is such a powerful analysis tool, we wanted to introduce it to Harrow schools as soon as possible.
It will be installed on school servers within the next few weeks. It can then be installed on up to three workstations during a consultancy, this can be as part of a consultancy on any area of SIMS. You can also use one of your purchased consultancies to help set up the Assessment graphs in your school, however we cannot offer this service until after the training sessions in January.
We do not have the resources to be able to offer inset sessions for training staff on Discover this financial year.

17th October 2011 Consultancies If you have purchased a 4 half day consultancy package as part of your SLA with the SIMS team, please remember that these need to be completed by the end of this financial year. As the spring term becomes very congested for team members to visit all schools, it would be helpful to us if consultancies are booked during the autumn term as well. These can be used for all areas of SIMS. If you would like to book a consultancy, please log a call on the Helpdesk area of our website, giving details of when you would like the consultancy and what area of SIMS you would like to work on.

KS2 Fine Grade Template 18th July 2011 We have imported a template into all Primary and Junior schools to calculate the KS2 fine grades for 2011. The template is called HCKS2 Fine Grades 2011.
You will need to attach a marksheet and click on Calculate to see the fine grades.
This is only to be used for KS2 Fine grades for 2011.Do not use previous years fine grades templates as they will not give accurate grades.
